Imagine a path
Imagine a path, and you don’t know where it leads.
You start walking, and as you go on, you keep thinking, ‘I don’t know where this is taking me.’ and you’re constantly afraid your leg muscles might get injured and walking becomes even more difficult due to your anxiety. While you’re lost in these thoughts, a small hill appears along your path. You climb over it that is not too steep. You continue walking and after a while, there’s another one… As you go further, the hills become steeper and start appearing more frequently. Your legs are now really tired. At this point, your fears start to creep in: ‘What if I hurt my foot?’ ‘Where am I going?’ ‘When it will be finished ?’ ‘There’s no end to this path.’ ‘I can’t do this.’ ‘I can’t keep walking.’ ‘I’m failing…’
Could someone thinking this way take another step forward?
Now, imagine the same path;
You start walking again, but this time, you know that at the end of this path, the person you love most in the world is waiting for you. You begin walking. You believe and trust that your body was designed to move along this path. Because of that, not a single worry or fear enters your mind. As you continue, a hill appears again. It’s not very steep at first, but when you reach the top, you catch a glimpse of the one waiting for you — the person you love most in this world. It’s not crystal clear from a distance, but you know it’s them. As you walk on, the hills get steeper and more frequent. But the higher you climb, the more clearly you can see your loved one waiting at the end of the path — and you’re getting closer with every step. Your body might be tired, but the thought of being so close to the one you love, of reaching them soon, gives you renewed strength. And finally, you reach the end of the path — and embrace them tightly. It’s the same path. So, which perspective would you rather choose?
